We didn't set out to be an option. We set out to be the standard.
Avenir instructors are trained to a level most studios don't ask for and most trainees don't expect. That's the point. When you tell someone you trained here, you shouldn't have to explain what that means.
Real studio hours with a Lead Trainer watching, correcting, and pushing you past "good enough."
You'll know why a cue works, not just that it does. That's what separates an instructor from a script-reader.
Practice teaching in front of people who tell you the truth, so the first time it's real, you're ready.
Client connection, professionalism, and how to actually build a career on this, not just a certificate.
Unlimited email mentorship and an in-person check-in for a full year after you finish. We don't disappear at graduation.
Avenir-trained means something in this city. You'll spend the rest of your career benefiting from that.
Pick the depth you want, not just the certificate.
The complete mat method, no equipment to hide behind. For the instructor who wants to teach mat like it's the whole method, because it is.
See the mat pathway →Our most popular pathway. Master the reformer and mat repertoire and walk out ready to run a full class schedule.
See the reformer + mat pathway →Reformer, mat, cadillac, chair, and barrels. Every apparatus, every transition. For the instructor who wants to teach the whole method, not a piece of it.
See the comprehensive pathway →Which Avenir Training Path Is Yours?
Question 1
What do you picture yourself teaching most?
Question 2
Do you feel called to teach apparatus-based Pilates?
Question 3
Where do you see yourself teaching?
Question 4
How deep do you want to go?
Still stuck between two paths? Ask yourself: do I want to teach Pilates classes, or do I want to understand the entire Pilates system? Classes → Reformer + Mat. The entire system → Comprehensive.
The people who'll actually be in the room.
Kara has been instructing Pilates since 2018 and holds comprehensive certifications from Club Pilates and BASI. She is a Lead Instructor at Avenir, where she also leads the Teacher Training and Mentorship Program. Kara's classes are form-forward, flow-focused, and genuinely fun, balancing precision with musicality and an empowering, encouraging teaching style. She is passionate about developing strong, confident movers and supporting fellow instructors as they grow into their own voices.
Outside the studio, Kara fully embraces her Silver Lake mom energy: actress, Pilates instructor, mom to two little humans and two scrappy pups, EV driver, iced matcha latte enthusiast, Clare V. devotee, and lifelong fan of '90s hip hop and feminist alt-rock.
Kate is a highly accomplished Master Pilates Instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience and comprehensive training under the renowned Karen Clippinger through BASI Pilates. A former professional dancer, she specializes in working with dancers, athletes, and clients focused on injury prevention, drawing on her performance experience with the LA Contemporary Dance Company and Australia's Strange Fruit. Kate holds a BFA in Dance from CSULB, giving her an exceptional understanding of movement and the human body.
In 2018, Kate and her husband Nick co-founded Avenir Pilates, now with four thriving LA locations, building a studio community known for precision, innovation, and transformation. Kate lives in Pasadena with Nick and their two children, balancing her roles as educator, studio owner, and mom with energy, expertise, and heart.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Allie started Pilates as a way to complement her dance and cheer training and quickly fell in love with the practice. Since completing her certification and joining Avenir in 2018, she's been creating classes that challenge, empower, and leave clients feeling strong and inspired. When she's not teaching, Allie is eating her way through LA's best spots or dancing and singing the night away at concerts and music events, always moving, always joyful, always full of energy.
A Los Angeles native, Arpi discovered her love for Pilates in 2017 and hasn't looked back. Deeply connected to the mind-body-spirit flow of the practice, she's passionate about sharing that energy with others. Certified by master instructor Kate at Avenir, Arpi continues to elevate her craft through advanced training, including Balanced Body programs with industry legend Maria Leone. When she's not in the studio, you can find her traveling, hiking, hitting the beach, or catching a live concert, always chasing movement, adventure, and good vibes.
Every cohort fills. The instructors already in the room decided before they felt ready. You already know which pathway is yours...
